What We Do Here...

Hello... We are The Kite Shop... We've been in business since July of 2013. We offer a wide range of services like kite designing, kite repairs, custom candle creating, sand dollar art, kite flying lessons, kite rentals, wind blockers & beach umbrella rentals, beach chair rentals, design store front signs and flags, beach game rentals and for sale (latter ball, bocce ball, horse shoes and badmitin sets), beach toys starting at $3, personal tailor services (we can mend, repair, alter or create almost anything), assistance in finding the right kite, loads of kiting information and so much more...

Dennis Grotz created this store on July of 2013 and based it around the elements and a dream. So, with the earth, wind, fire and water and a love of kite flying in mind The Kite Shop was created. A very open, peaceful, one of a kind, budget friendly, easy going and relaxing envirement for everyone to enjoy.

Kites flying every where, a work staition in back, nothing priced over $100, assorted beach toys and games, myrtel wood carvings, hand made candles, crystals, decorated sand dollars (each one an original work of art made right here at the shop), a large range of single and dual line kites, kite line and asseseries, hand made kite bags and kite stakes, wind socks and wirrly gigs, spinners and twisters and even a sandbox in the middle of the store...is what you can expect to see when you visit our shop.

We'll even ship your order to you with shipping costs on us (S&H Free), any where in the U.S.

All kites in this section are single line, made of ripstop nylon or ripstop polyester, include flying line with handle, most come with tails and the recommended wind range is between 5-18 m.p.h. to 7-20 m.p.h.. Each kite will come with it's own description or feel free to call us for any neede kite information at 503-739-7016.

DESIGNING, CREATING & SEWING ...

** Personalized kite designing - If you have an idea for a kite that you would like to bring to life, we can help. Either in person or via email, we can draw up blue prinnts for your idea. Then you pick the color of nylon you would like, the type of kite you desire and any special details you wish to apply to your kite. Then leave the rest up to us. With your step by step approval, we'll bring your idea... your memory... your dream... to life for you. You'll be flying your brand new kite high in the sky for all to admire and enjoy before you know it. We will even cover the shipping and handeling charges to deliver your kite to you anywhere in the United States.

** Store front flags, banners, feathers, garden flags, kite bags, wind socks, signs and more - Just about anything you would like made out of nylon, for indoor, out door or personal use, we can most likely create it for you. Give us a call or send us an email with what you're interested in having made and we'll let you know if we have the knowledge and skill to create your item for you. About an 98% chance we do and can...

** Need some mending done? Tent has a rip in it? Pant legs too long? Need to add your new club patches to you jacket? Car cover falling apart? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we can help you out. If we can sew it on our sewing machine or by hand, we can fix it for you. Give us a call and let us know what needs mending...

BEACH RENTALS...

** We offer kite rentals for $10 per kite, per day and a $10 deposit per kite (deposit is fully refundable upon return of the non-damaged, fully intact rental kite). We have rental kites from 35 feet long to 11 feet wide and many in between to choose from. All of our rental kites have been personaly tested for ease of use and come with nesessary flying line. Come on down to The Kite Shop and let the fun begin.

** Here at T.K.S. we understand what a vacation bummer the winds and blowing sand can be so, we designed a wind blocker to help with this little issue. For $10 per hour (with the first and last hour free for setting up and taking down) plus a $50 cash deposit or a credit card (credit card will not be charged for deposit unless rental is not returned to us). Deposit is fully refundable upon return of undamaged, fully intact rental. Our wind blocker is 12 feet long anf 4 feet high and is made of heavy canvas. Also included is a carrying bag, poles, pole driver, instructions on how to set up and take down the wind blocker and if instructions are not enough, then a personal assistant if needed. Our wind blocker can also be used as a privacy blocker. It can be set up in a complete circle allowing you privacy from other beach goers or it can be used as a play area for the kids.

** We even have beach chair rentals for $10 per day, per chair with a $10 deposit per chair, per day (depoit is fully refundable upon return of the undamaged, fully intact rental). If you would like you also have the opption to buy the beach chair for $20 each.

** (*) We now offer beach umbrella rentals for $20 per day with a $10 deposit per umbrella (deposit is fully refundable upon return of the undamaged, fully intact rental).

** If beach games are more for you, we've got them for rent or for sale. We currently have Latter Ball, Bocca Ball, Yard Darts and Badminton with more to be added soon... To rent one of our beach games all you have to do is bring your i.d., pay $10 for rent for the day and leave a $10 deposit (deposit will be returned in full when you return your rental in the same condition you recieved it in).

Dual Line Sport Kites & Parafoils...

Pictured below are a few of the sport kites and parafoils we have in our shop. We also carry a nice selection of line (specta and dacron) and straps and if you can find what you're looking for we can custom make your very own flying lines. Kite Flying Lessons...

Never Flowen A Kite Before?

No Worries, We've Got You Covered...

Weather you're new to kite flying or would like to learn to fly a new type of kite, we can help. We have very qualified staff members the will go to the beach here in Seaside with you and teach you how to fly your new kite. We don't promise you'll be a pro after a hour or two lesson but you will have the knowledge to fly your kite on your own. We charge $10 per hour to teach one person how to fly a single or dual line kite. If you're interested in kite flying lessons, please give us a call at 1-503-739-7016 to schedule an appointment (An appointment gaurantees a staff member will be availible for a kite lesson. Walk-ins may have to wait for the next availible staff member).

Activities At The Kite Shop...

Lets Make A Gel Candle

Starting at only $10 you can make your very own gell candle... All you have to do is decide what you want to decorate your candle with and we'll do the rest. Then wait about 20-30 minutes and your candle containing your memories of Seaside will be ready for you to take home.

All ages will love designing thier own candle and it's a fun activity for the whole family. Bring your beach treasures with you and lets make a memory.
